The Rear Eyes Reverse Parking Aid is a devices that discreetly attaches to your licence plate while offering full sensing abilities. When the driver's car is placed in reverse, the unit sends out circular ultrasonic waves and detects any obstacles near the rear of the car, starting at a distance of 6 feet. Once the unit senses an object, it releases a beeping signal that can be heard inside the car. To give the driver a sense of how close the obstacle is, this beeping sound changes pace at the 3 different distance intervals; 6 - 4 feet, 4 - 2 feet, less than 2 feet. The unit uses 4 ultrasonic sensors arranged in a row, with two of them set at a calculated angle to maximize detection behind the car. This arrangement enables sensing of objects near the corner of rear bumper. Power is drawn from the car's reverse light, so the unit is only turned on when the car is placed in reverse gear.
